Kirkpatrick, Sprecker & Company, LLP (K&S) was formed in 1963 by Mary Ellen Kirkpatrick and Jayde Sprecker. Mary Ellen was one of the first women to receive a Kansas CPA Certificate and founded her own practice in 1954. She also became the first woman to serve as the Chairman of the Kansas Board of Accountancy. Jayde began his career working for a local CPA firm but had known Mary Ellen in college and, in 1963, asked if she would like a business partner. Over 50 years later, the firm they founded is still going strong.
